Leipzig - Plagwitz, industrial area since end of the 19th century. The industry is gone, lots of historical buildings left, giving the place a special atmosphere. Only Kirow - heavy machinery at GDR times - still produces cranes and mining equipment at their historical factory ground in Plagwitz. They have now finished their new, spectacular cantine - designed by Oscar Niemeyer. His last opus at the age of 103!
